Notes

It’s been a diverse 20-plus years of music for 37-year-old Dax Riggs. Originally based in New Orleans, Riggs has stirred up a fairly large cult following with his uniquely dark projects and their genres - which include sludge metal, swamp rock, dark singer-songwriter/folk, blues rock and traditional rock’n’roll.

With such an assorted discography, dark/occult lyrics and a Southern Jim Morrison vibe, there is likely to be some appeal for everyone here. (See: Golgotha, Acid Bath, Daisyhead & the Mooncrickets, Agents of Oblivion, T-Daks and His White Plastic Soul, Deadboy & the Elephantmen, Dax Riggs)

And, the big plus - he’s a nice person. (And quite an odd character, too.)

Of all of Riggs’ projects, I enjoy Agents of Oblivion and Deadboy & the Elephantmen (ITIH) most, and this “newer” track - a cover of “Lungs” by Townes Van Zandt - really takes me back to that 2000-2002 material with the addition of his newer rock’n’roll sound.
